Update

As far as the blog goes I just haven't felt like blogging lately. I'm going to try to get back into it more in the next few weeks.

Here's a brief update of what's been going on lately.

Isaac is doing well. I do have one thing that I have been praying for and would ask you to do the same. He still currently has his central line and it limits so much his freedom to be a little boy. He can't play like the rest of the kids at recess. This weighs heavy on Melissa and I. We want him to feel normal. Pray that his B cells kick in so they can remove the line. They say it can take several years to kick in and this year will be three since his transplant. He has to keep the central line until he doesn't have to have infusions of medicines. Which will continue until his B cells kick in. I think about this alot.

In other news he had his first ever spend the night experience the other night with a friend staying over. Many people would take this for granted but this was the first time he has been healthy enough for something like this. They had a blast. We took them up to Charlotte to some race shops on Friday and stopped by and visited with our friends at Hendrick Motorsports.

On the house front, I moved the last load of stuff tonight. We are officially moved. Also, we signed a contract today to sell our house and it closes in a month.

I have been drained the last couple of weeks with the crud but I'm getting over it now. Things are starting to look up.

I've learned and discovered a ton of things in the past year and hopefully in the next month or so I'll put it all down in a series of posts.

Hesitation

Genesis 19:6 When he hesitated.

Powerful words. Lot had been told to grab his family and flee the destruction of Sodom. At a time when he should be doing the right thing, we read the words....When he hesitated.

Lot had just set a horrible precedent of hesitating to do the right thing with his wife and daughters sitting on the front row watching. Powerful stuff. When I hesitate to do the right thing, the people that it impacts the most are the people right beside me, my wife and son. How about you are you hesitating on doing the right thing? You don't have to make a wrong decision sometimes just that hesitation in making the right decision is what hurts.

120 years No Growth

I was reading the other day in Genesis and this thought hit me as I was reading about Noah. Noah preached righteousness according to 2 Peter 2:5. The thought that hit me was this. Noah preached righteousness for 120 years but yet didn't have a single person place their faith in God. All of the "church that isn't growing isn't a success mentality" that is prevalent today would probably condemn Noah as being an irrelevant epic failure. So that begs the question do numbers always equal success or is it our obedience to what God has called us to do as the thing that matters most. Something to think about.

Sidenote- I am not bashing any church that is growing with their numbers that have increased. Heck, we started with 6 people and have increased many times over. I'm just wondering what is our measure of success. Is it that our numbers have increased or that we have faithfully fulfilled the part that God has called us to. 

Latest Really Random Post

Church was packed Sunday. That was cool to see. Been praying through a bunch of stuff. Now I am waiting. Patience is hard. Your prayers are appreciated.

Been praying for wisdom also as to friendships. Trying to filter through true friends from people who only call you when they want something. This is something I want to be also. Not just someone who only calls when they want something but a real friend. 

Moving into the house next week. If you're up for a moving party, then I'll be moving so bring the party. The moving houses thing is awesome because it is going to save us money each month which is always a good thing. 

Isaac is doing better. Got his report card. 4 A's 1 B. Awesome. 

Melissa hit a mailbox yesterday. mailbox ok Passenger Mirror Not Ok

I need sleep. Haven't slept but 3 hours each of the last two nights. That's about it.

3 Days Crammed into 1

Today we packed 3 days worth of activities into one. 

This a.m. was church at StoneBridge. I left the house early with small snowflakes falling which was a cool way to start the day. Church was good. The band did a great job and I got to make fun of glamour shots in my message so all was good.

We left church at 1 p.m. and headed for Charlotte grabbing lunch along the way. We had two stops to make before we got there. Isaac has a history project due next week on the Revolutionary War so we made two stops at battlefields. We stopped at Cowpens where General Morgan routed Banistre Tarleton and then stopped at Kings Mountain where the over the mountain men led by Shelby and Sevier routed General Furgeson and the Red Coats.

When we got to Cowpens, much to our surprise this was reenactment weekend. So yes, you guessed it, grown men walking around in knickers that resembled something more like saggy pajamas.  Two things about this. 1. Soldiers wearing knickers did not look that menacing to me. Now give me a soldier wearing a kilt and face paint like William Wallace and I'll show you menancing. 2. These guys are way too involved in their respective roles. Frankly, they scared me a bit with the fervor at which they approached the firing of their smooth bore muskets filled with blanks. 

After Cowpens we stopped at Kings Mountain. Apparently the reenactment in Cowpens had taken away their business and there were only two other visitors there. The rangers were excited to see us and even more appreciative that we agreed to watch their 25 minute movie on the battle. After the movie it was off to Charlotte to meet up with our friends at the go kart party.

The party was hosted by the Hendrick Marrow Foundation and the Jeff Gordon Foundation and as always the event was awesome. It was held at Victory Lane Karting. They had all the karts up and running for the kids and the adults. Of course anyone who knows me knows that my absolute favorite thing to do is ride go karts whether at Frankie's, the back yard track , or wherever. These karts are hands down the fastest I have been on. If you get a chance this is almost as fun as the Petty Driving experience. It is indoors and they are running 9 hp engines which makes for high speeds which is a good thing. Big thanks to everyone at the Hendrick Marrow program and the Jeff Gordon Foundation.

It's been a busy day and I'm off to bed.
