Motor Racing Outreach Association

Some of you already know that I have been involved with Motor Racing Outreach Association being involved with motor sports ministry for the last year. Recently, there has been an opening within the racing community to provide ministry to Nascar's Canadian Tire Series. I was asked to pray and consider becoming the chaplain for this series. After much thought and prayer, I have taken on the role as chaplain for this series. This is a great opportunity to share Christ within the racing world. I will be serving through the MROA and will begin track ministry at the end of May. I will continue to be a Teaching Pastor at Marathon Church. I am excited about the opportunity and can't wait to see what is in store.

There are a couple of ways you can be involved in this ministry. The first is that I ask for your prayers that hearts would be open for ministry to take place at the tracks in Canada. The second is by becoming part of our donor team that will keep me at the track and available to minister. My ministry with the MROA is totally based on raising my own support. We have set the budget for this racing season at $9500. This covers the necessary expenses for me to be at the track including airfare, materials, hotel, and other expenses while in Canada. All of your gifts are tax deductible and can be made payable to Motor Racing Outreach. Please mark Sammy Clary on the for section of the check. The mailing address is 23 Duxbury Lane Easley, SC 29642 or you can send the check directly to Motor Racing Outreach at Smith Tower, Suite 405 5555 Concord Parkway South Concord, NC 28027 but remember to indicate Sammy Clary in the memo section of the check so that it will go into the proper account. Also, in the next couple of days I will have a paypal link on their website where you contribute online for convenience. Again, thank you for your prayers and support.

Update

As far as the blog goes I just haven't felt like blogging lately. I'm going to try to get back into it more in the next few weeks.

Here's a brief update of what's been going on lately.

Isaac is doing well. I do have one thing that I have been praying for and would ask you to do the same. He still currently has his central line and it limits so much his freedom to be a little boy. He can't play like the rest of the kids at recess. This weighs heavy on Melissa and I. We want him to feel normal. Pray that his B cells kick in so they can remove the line. They say it can take several years to kick in and this year will be three since his transplant. He has to keep the central line until he doesn't have to have infusions of medicines. Which will continue until his B cells kick in. I think about this alot.

In other news he had his first ever spend the night experience the other night with a friend staying over. Many people would take this for granted but this was the first time he has been healthy enough for something like this. They had a blast. We took them up to Charlotte to some race shops on Friday and stopped by and visited with our friends at Hendrick Motorsports.

On the house front, I moved the last load of stuff tonight. We are officially moved. Also, we signed a contract today to sell our house and it closes in a month.

I have been drained the last couple of weeks with the crud but I'm getting over it now. Things are starting to look up.

I've learned and discovered a ton of things in the past year and hopefully in the next month or so I'll put it all down in a series of posts.

Frozen Mayonaise

Some of you wanted to see the clip of Cathy Rampey eating frozen mayonaise. It's about midway through this clip.
